Kimberbell is a well-established company in the crafting industry, specializing in machine embroidery designs. For years, they operated primarily as a B2B business, selling physical products like CDs containing their designs to retailers who would then sell them to end customers. Kimberbell initially came to us because they needed to move sites and because they had been hacked. Since then we’ve continued to add onto their site in a multitude of ways.

Moved them to Kinsta for managed hosting and were able to fix all the security issues related to their hack. We’ve also greatly improved their Autoship program that ships pre-released product to businesses to have available to sale.

Digital Dealer Exclusive (DDE) Program Modernization

Rebuilt their digital dealer exclusives (DDE) plugin which allows customer to have a license to download a product. This DDE is a mix of B2C and B2B as it allows individuals to signup or businesses to buy licenses and assign to individuals via their DDE user portal. This custom plugin to replace their legacy system, enabling retailers to:

Run monthly membership clubs with automated billing

Access digital design collections released monthly

Purchase and assign licenses to their customers

Digital Code Redemption System

Created an innovative solution that allowed Kimberbell to:

Generate thousands of unique, one-time use codes

Print these codes on cards for retailers to sell in physical stores

Enable customers to redeem codes on the website for instant digital delivery

Eliminate physical media (CDs and USBs) entirely from their workflow

Website Optimization

Improved the overall website performance by:

Migrating to better servers to increase site speed

Enhancing security measures

Cleaning up technical debt
